Five Chinese ministries have issued a joint statement No 1586 on 5 January 2012 to strengthen the phasing-out of fenamiphos and other 21 highly toxic pesticide products from the Chinese market.

The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) officially stops today processing the application for the production certificates on 22 highly toxic pesticide products and relevant certificate issuance has also come to an end as of the publishing date of this notice.

As for companies that have already been approved for the production of nine pesticides including fenamiphos, calcium phosphide and cadusafos, MIIT has made the decision to withdraw their production certificates according to the legal procedure.

Relevant enforcement authorities are the Ministry of Agriculture, MIIT, Ministry of Environmental Protection, State Administration for Industry & Commerce and General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
