The Chinese Ministry of Agriculture published on an official circular the first-part of result of quality inspection on pesticide goods. More than 90% the pesticide were quality standard-compliant but approximately 15% of the pesticides were incorrectly labeled.
The inspections were carried out by the subordinates and affiliates from 30 provincial areas by spot- checkings on 1561 items of crops to which the pesticides are applied. The crops ranging from rice, wheat, cotton, soybean, corn, tea plant, fruit to vegetables and the pesticides were examined under standard test methods including GB, HJ.

The Ministry directed its local branches that the disqualified products shall be traced back to their original producers and the suspect producers shall be seized or punished. In serious circumstances, the permits or certifications of the producers shall be revoked or withdrawn. The MoA also named most suspected 6 producers and 9 distributors and asked the local branches to enhance inspections and supervisions on these companies. If illegal activities were verified the companies will be punished accordingly.
