Two IP Infringements of DuPont’s Rynaxypyr Insecticide Ruled in Jiangsu
DuPont’s Rynaxypyr has been patent-protected with its debut in China 4 years ago, unceasingly illegal productions and marketings of the insecticide have been probed and sentenced since then due to the high profit after the risk. This month, two patent infringements cases with 24 million Yuan worth of the counterfeits were sentenced in Jiangsu, a strong chemical outputting province in China.

2012 Codex Committee Conference on Pesticide Residues in Shanghai
The 44th Session of the Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues has begun yesterday (23 April) in Shanghai. During the six-day conference, 237 participants coming from 59 countries/districts and 8 international associations will review over 300 draft standards proposed for the residual limits of 27 pesticides in agro products. These include maximum Pesticide Residuals (PR) limit draft standards for cypermethrin in tea products, and acephate and methamidophos in brown rice, proposed by China. 12 subjects including compiling guidance on PR limit for small plots of crops, PR risk analysis principle and agro products categorization, etc. will be addressed on the meeting.

China Stops Registration of Glyphosate AS with Content Below 30%
China has ordered on 26 March a suspension of field test and pesticide registration application (including temporary, full and renewal registrations) for glyphosate mixture aqueous solution with active ingredient content below 30%, according to a notice issued by the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture early this month.

MOA Publishes Rules on Nomenclature for Agricultural Crop
Rules on nomenclature for agricultural botanical varieties are issued to regulate China’s corporeal seed market order The Chinese Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) has published today the Rules on Nomenclature for Agricultural Botanical Varieties (MOA Order No 2-2012) in order to strengthen the naming management and maintain a sound market order for China’s corporeal seeds. The regulation is going to come into effect from 15 April 2012.
