On 22th Mar 2016, the Australia APVMA invited public consultation on the registration of Aviator Xpro Foliar Fungicide, containing the new active ingredient bixafen in combination with prothioconazole.
Aviator Xpro Foliar Fungicide is an emulsifiable concentrate formulation containing 75 g/L bixafen and 150 g/L prothioconazole It is intended for control of blackleg (Leptosphaeria maculans) in canola, which will be applied at a rate of 550 and 650 mL/ha. A maximum of two applications are allowed however application may not occur after the green bud stage of the crop.
The fungicide is currently registered for us in the UK, Norway, Chile, Switzerland, Ukraine, Austria, Netherlands, New Zealand and Moldova, covering the use on wheat, barley, triticale, oats, rye, rape(canola) and spelt. It has also conditionally registered in Luxembourg, Poland, Belgium, Germany, France and Ireland for the use on above crop with the exception of canola.
The bixafen technical will be manufactured outside Australia and the final product Aviator Xpro will be formulated in both Australian and overseas factories.
