On April 15 2013, the MoA published a news release on its website that it has issued an administrative condemnatory recently. The ICAMA registration certificates of four pesticide companies have been revoked for manufacturing the counterfeit or substandard crop protection products.
The MoA exposed the certification number and the details of these products and companies:
The Lambda-cyhalothrin 25g/L EC (ICAMA No: PD20090596) from Linyi Zhongjing Chem: has been tested with insufficient active ingredient and contained a unregistered ingredient malathion;
The Phoxim and Triazophos 30%EC (ICAMA No: PD20096960) from Jiangxi Longyuan: the combination was found added with an unregistered ingredient, the lambda-cyhalothrin;
The Malation and Triazophos 20%EC (ICAMA No: PD20091486) from Guagnxi Golden Swallows was found added with an unregistered ingredient, the lambda-cyhalothrin,;
The Thiophanate-methyl 70% WP (ICAMA No: PD20084318) from Henan Anyang Guofeng was tested of little amount of active ingredient;
Last year, the MoA has sent 10 investigative panels to more than 20 provincial areas and drawn 78 samples from 45 manufacturers and finally found 14 of the products are “problematic”. The counterfeits by the above four companies have been recognized as an aggravated act against pesticide regulation which lead to the revocation of their ICAMA registration certificates.
MoA warned that more stringent random inspection will be carried out in FY 2013 and the illegal producers will not be tolerated. The new regulation has incorporated more than 20 articles related to penalty. Adding any unregistered active ingredient into the formulated products will be regard as making counterfeit pesticide. In serious circumstances, the company might be revoked of the ICAMA registration and manufacturing permit and (or) be rejected for any further application for ICAMA registration in next five years.
