Brazil Canceled Import Duty of Biological Insecticide to Fight against Mosquito and Helicoverpa
On 1 Apr 2016, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Chamber issue the Resolution No 31/2016 on the Official Gazette to cancel the import duty of the biological insecticide based on Bacillus thuringiensis subsp, which was imposed on 14% import duties previously.

Brazil MAPA Updated Priority List of Products for Pesticide Registration Review
On 14th Mar 2016, the Brazil Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) updated the “ List of Pesticide Products for Priority Registration Review”, which includes the trade name, applicant and composition, proposed crop and pests of 68 pesticide products.

Brazil ANVISA Consults on Pesticide Monograph Amendment for 6 Active Ingredients
On 10th Mar 2015, Brazil ANVISA invited public consultations on the amendment in official Pesticide Monograph of 6 active ingredients: the clethodim (herbicide), fenpropathrin (insecticide), fluxapyroxad(fungicide), lufenuron(insecticide), profenofos(insecticide) and pyraclostrobin(fungicide).The inclusion of new applicable crop on all 6 active ingredients and the MRL elevation of fluxapyroxad and pyraclostrobin on certain crops were proposed this time.

Brazil Simplifies Toxicological Review on Manufacturer Alteration of Pesticide Technical Product
  The Brazilian National Surveillance Agency (ANVISA), Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) and Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA) are pushing forward the simplification of toxicological evaluation during registration alteration, which includes the alteration, inclusion and exclusion of manufacturer of an existing registered technical product.

Brazil ANVISA Clarifies Status of 5 Carcinogenic Pesticides
On 20 Mar 2015, the International Agency of Research on Cancer (IARC) announced the carcinogenicity classification of five pesticides. The Brazilian National Agency of Sanitary Surveillance (ANVISA) consequently clarified the regulatory status of each of the 5 active ingredients in Brazil with a particular focus on current and future regulation of glyphosate.
