On May 6, 2020, China ICAMA invited a 25-day consultation on a draft list of the measured substances for residue trial and residue definition for dietary risk assessment.
Pesticide residue definition is an umbrella term of the toxicologically-significant metabolites, degradation products, impurities and parent compound of the pesticide that remaining harvested crops. During the residue trial, one of the most important steps of pesticide registration process, these substances are quantitated, either collectively or separately. Both residue definition and the measured substances are widely used in dietary risk assessment, MRL developing. But pesticide residue definition usually refers to the sum of all the substances concerned and more frequently adopted in MRL regulation and food safety surveillance.
A total of 477 active ingredients have been included in the list.
