China MoA to Form 9th National Pesticide Registration Expert Committee
  • During the 9th National Expert Committee of Pesticide Registration, MoA will assemble 130 experts recommended by MIIT, MEP, NHFPC, AQSIQ, SAWS and CFDA.

  • Expert Panels will be responsible for technical advice relating to seven product characteristics including chemistry, efficacy, residue, toxicology, environment, production/product circulation and comprehensive policy;

  • Insecticide, fungicide, herbicide, PGR, rodenticide and household insecticide experts will be randomly selected for each session;

On 20 Mar 2017, China MoA circulated an official letter concerning the formation of the 9th National Committee on Pesticide Registration. In response to the newly revised pesticide regulation and the expiration of the 8th Committee, MoA plans to assemble a new group of experts to conduct technical review of pesticide registration. The new committee will be composed of about 130 experts recommended by MIIT, MEP, NHFPC, AQSIQ, SAWS and CFDA. MoA is responsible for the committee organizational structure, personnel and verification of the qualifications of experts.

The Committee will be composed of Chairman, Committee Room, Expert Panels and Executive Board. The Chairman position will be held by the deputy minister of Agriculture and vice-chairmen positions will be held by the representative from ICAMA, MOA’s Department of Plantation Management, MITT, MEP and NHFPC. The Expert Panels will be responsible for formulating pesticide registration technical advice related to product chemistry, efficacy, residue, toxicology, environment, production/product circulation and comprehensive policy. Insecticide, fungicide, herbicide, PGR, rodenticide and household insecticide experts will be randomly selected for each session. MoA arranged the personnel composition based on expertise and referral from each government departments.
