According to requirement of the “Announcement on the launch of environment protection inspection on the manufacturers of glyphosate/PMIDA”, the first glyphosate/PMIDA manufacturers have been inspected by department of Pollution Prevention and Control under the Ministry of Environment Protection, through the following steps: self-inspection of the manufacturer, recommendation by industry association, first inspection by the provincial environmental protection department, expert review and on-site inspection.

Only four manufacturers among more than ten from Anhui, Jiangsu, Chongqing, Ningxia, Jiangxi and Hubei have passed the inspection. The name of the manufacturer, synthesis procedure and their main products is presented on the website of the MEP for public comments.

The comment period is 5 days from July 13, 2014 to July 20, 2014.
