On 30 April 2020, the Chinese Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Affairs (MoARA) has invited public feedback on pesticide MRLs to be integrated into the national standard, ”GB 2763 Maximum Residue Limits for Pesticide in Food”. The deadline for comments is 31 May 2020.
The proposed MRLs are themed into 3 separate exposure drafts, corresponding roughly to new MRLs and commodities expansion/amendments; MRLs of restricted/prohibited pesticides, as well as the group MRLs plant-source commodities. Comparing to GB 2763-2019 implemented in February this year, the future trend in China’s MRL development can be summarized as following table.
